Our Mission & Impact

Denver Cat Rescue was initially founded to meet the need for adoptable kitties at Denver Cat Company, its sister organization. It has grown into a full-fledged rescue operation because of the great need for adoptable cats in Denver. Meanwhile, some underfunded/overpopulated states struggle to find a landing place for cats crowding high-kill shelters.

Our mission is to connect the dots between these two needs.

We are able to fulfill our adoption demand as well as saves lives with the help of a growing foster and volunteer network.

Kitty Matchmaking

We are uniquely positioned to perform fine-tuned “kitty matchmaking” as cat café customers are able to interact with and get to know their new family members in a comfortable cage-free environment. Our cats have an opportunity to be socialized and let their personalities shine.

Every year, thousands of healthy young cats are euthanized in states across the American South. This is only for lack of resources and funding.

Fortunately, we are able to prevent some of this unnecessary death by transporting these high-risk kitties into the Denver Metro Area, where adoption demand is high.

We transport an average of 100 cats each month and hope to grow our number as we build a wider foster network and obtain additional funding for vetting costs.

We have the added advantage of a built-in adoption network: our rescues are showcased to a large social media audience of cat lovers who follow our cat café adventures. None of our rescues remain in our care long, as they tend to quickly find loving forever homes.
